Forums > THE GLOBAL VILLAGE > The LAND ROVER Forum > What did you do to or buy for your Landy today?
Pinched the idea from the D2 boys club forum and thought would fit in well here?
Had a busy week on D2, put on a new rear track rod and ends so no more wheel wobble, bought a set of terra Firma window wind deflectors and fitted them, bought four work lights for the front of the roof ack c/w H3 LEDs so got those to fit.
Dennis one has thrown an injector pump so ordered one off eBay which should arrive today, then got to fit it. Will change cam belt at same time.

Well, my most recent purchase was a pair of Optima batteries (one red and one yellow top) as Patterson's removed the standard battery before it was trucked down to Somerset. I was pleased to hear that they both fit in the underseat battery box (they are smaller than standard batteries).
I'm waiting for a full report from Matt before I know exactly what is still required but I know I'll soon be looking for the following: pair of front seats, pair of front seat belts, Lasalle headliner and door trims, Engel MT45 fridge/freezer, roof-mounted solar panel, new modular wheels and tyres, air-conditioning system. I'm sure there'll be more to add to the shopping list!

You got that right!
Based on the preliminary report that I've had from Matt, and what I saw of the vehicle when I got back from the Europe trip, I'm glad that I opted for the rental car. The Defender was in no shape to make the trip to Europe
Moving the Defender to Matt may end up costing me more money than I initially expected but I'll be waaay more confident in the vehicle being ready for the big trip.

Done nothing in it or to it today, (it was parked up at work most of the day), but had the front wheel bearings changed and new brake pads on friday and did a couple of gentle, local lanes in it on saturday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH6SNTyRm2E
I've done nothing to my 110 myself today but rumour has it the hefty new rear crossmember from http://www.blacksheepoffroad.co.uk/Site/Products.html was glued on last night, itching to get over and have a look at it now...

Relays arrived so I can wire the spots. Will use two way switch so can have either on all time, on with main beam or off. Taking power from aux battery .

I just bought a new pair of Exmoor Trim Elite front seats for the Defender.
The retail price is 848 pounds but I was able to get a pair of 'seconds' for only 610 pounds. The only thing wrong with them is the Moorland fabric pattern is slightly skewed so the pattern doesn't line up squarely on the seat - a very minor point cosidering the cost savings.
The Defender arrived at Matt's with only one seat so I had to buy at least one seat! I wanted upgraded seats anyway and, as we'll be spending so long sitting in them, I figured I'd splurge on the Exmoor Trim Elite seats. Now I have to order a matching locking cubby box with Moorland fabric top!

I forgot to include the link to the e-bay listing that includes photos of the seats. Here it is - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-90-110-130-Pair-of-seats-/300772393777?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item46076e8331
Whilst the seats are listed at 660 pounds, I made an offer of 610 that was accepted. There's one more pair left for sale.

Clive at Black Sheep was very helpful and I'm really pleased with the quality of the crossmember, less pleased at still waiting to get the 110 back. Due tonight sometime...maybe...
Absence has made the heart fonder and I have been drawing up an improvements list...
