Kent Police have issued a warning to 'bragging' 4x4 drivers and trail bike riders over the misuse of greenlanes at Holly Hill Woods, near Snodland.
According to Kent Online, Holly Hill has 'been suffering from nuisance vehicles all winter', with the police warning coming after a group of riders posted videos of their exploits on YouTube.
A two-day operation by Kent Police officers and woodland wardens saw 14 warnings given to people found driving their vehicles anti-socially on the land. If caught a second time, these vehicles will be seized.
Six fines were also given for vehicles being driven off-road.
One vehicle was seized as the driver had no licence and another driver was given a £200 fine for having no insurance.
PC Tony Green, from Kent Police's motorcycle team, said: "The actions of these individuals are just another form of mindless vandalism.
"The potential damage to the environment caused by bikes and cars in this area is vast, as it is a special conservation area and also a site of special scientific interest.
"We have seen evidence of rare plants and trees being damaged and being uprooted deliberately to access the protected areas in vehicles.
"What compounded their actions though is that the culprits were so blase about this that they decided to post videos of their deeds on YouTube.
"We wanted this operation to send a strong message that motorbikes and 4x4s in this area will not be tolerated and those found driving here could have their vehicles seized permanently."
Holly Hill Woods covers almost 44 acres, with the majority of tracks being public footpaths or bridleways - although there are two B.O.A.Ts across the area.
